Demolished and Redevelopment
The Kaitumutumu Marae is a three stage project constructed on a 700m² land area with a total building floor area of 418m². The stages included are the following:
• Kohaga Reo (Stage 1)
A childcare facility that includes a kitchen, office and a children’s activity area.
• Wharakai Building ( Stage 2)
The Wharekai is a single storey multipurpose building constructed of concrete block with timber truss work. The building has a hall area of 250m² and includes sanitary facilities.
• Wharanui ( Stage3)
The Wharenui is an upgrade to the existing complex that features a large open span area to accommodate meetings and cultural activities.
