 The Whenuapai Airport was a design proposal in 2000 for the development of a Whenuapai airbase as a second domestic commercial airport for the greater Auckland Region. Other airports are used successfully in New Zealand, such as Woodbourne in Blenheim, as a military and civil aircraft ports. The Waitakere City and North Shore City districts would benefit from an airport in this locale and avoid traffic congestion through Auckland City. |
